Anne Gagne founded the Street Trees Committee, which collaborates with Montgomery County to bring free trees to neighborhood streets. The county will ensure it doesn’t affect sewer lines, driveway visibility or utility lines. The county is responsible for tree trimming and cutting it down when necessary.
By the end of the 2025–2026 season, over 100 trees will be added to the neighborhood — and there’s still room for more! Reach out to your KECA tree committee members:

Beautification: We’ll start a new effort in Spring 2026 to beautify and maintain the sign at Summit Avenue and the border wall at Ewell Avenue. We also maintain the seasonal plantings and decorations on the median at the intersection of Parkwood Drive and Puller Drive.
Other FREE Tree & Yard Programs:
Tree Montgomery: Free shade trees for private property
RainScapes Rewards Rebate: Rebates for managing stormwater on your property
The Social Committee plans and heads KECA’s annual events, including the Dog Parade, Block Party, and Halloween Party.
Dottie and Bob Emmet were successful in decreasing the speed limits on every road in KECA Estates to 20 mph, excluding Parkwood Dr.
